What's the engine in that thing? Maybe you got the model with the small engine.

From what I hear, the Getz is economical... what's the mileage like?

Oh man, that's just disturbing. I didn't know people took browser obsession to that level. Those Firefox games are an embarrassment to humanity they're so bad. And I thought Linux nerds had problems!

I don't like Firefox too much either, because of the 'loyal' Firefox fans going on about Internet Explorer's bugs and vulnerabilities and how it is the worst browser ever and should be blocked. I would have switched to Firefox several months ago but the cries of the Firefox fans and their obsessions (yeah, [ http://www.mouserunner.com/Mozilla_and_Firefox_Games.html ], [ http://skiphappens.com/archives/000151.html {God chooses Firefox}] and stupid campaigns like 'Firefox: Take the sidewalk back') put me off an extinguished permanently any chance of me switching to Firefox (as my primary browser) and me recommending it to anyone. It's ironic that I'm using Firefox at this very moment [20:42, Tuesday 06 May 2008] but Internet Explorer remains my favourite browser, even after the interface cannibalisation in IE7.

How true!! It is all about protecting the commercial interests of Aussie companies and not the safety of our children. I wonder how many children have died in ISOFIX-ready cars using seats only restrained by safety belts over the past 10 years. Having used ISOFIX overseas for my nieces and nephews, it infuriates me that I have to put up with such unsafe seats for my own children.

How terrible that these European car and seat manufacturers have not lowered their standards to the miserable Aussie levels. We value our children - it's a pity the Australian public servants don't!!

pregnant wife ? bitch ?
they beat in your wife ?

That problem that you have is very old in that world.
If you are blond with american appearance those problems always happen with that person type.
Here where i live (it believes is true) appear african children on top of my house ! To do one what ? To raise pipe ! I talk with their mothers and them don't want to know of that. HELL !!!!
They threaten to fling stones (and they fling !) if we try to stop them of raising pipe on top of my house. HELL !!!!
Happily has africans with high level in that world. Unhappily I just know the bad part.
you discuss world problem here in your site ? you talk other subjects and beer also ?
you see the last post that i put in Shout Box about Bush ? what you think about that ? Is it about politic or about innocent dying that i put in shout box ?

Yes, it's a typical cold war movie from 1982 involving Clint Eastwood stealing the ultimate military jet (with a thought-controlled weapons system no less!) from Soviet Russia. It feels like watching a WWII propaganda film - the Soviet officers are portrayed as being pure evil, and Eastwood is the all-American hero, infiltrating their ranks, killing a few soldiers and making off with the secret technology. http://imdb.com/title/tt0083943/

Well, you know what they say about opinions... everyone's got one and they all stink. (That's the clean version of that cliche, anyway.) Mainly, I just thought it was an odd combination of ideas--that Apple sucks for not having a built-in modem, because you want one and don't want to carry around an extra piece, but that they should have gone with FireWire 800, because you want it and everyone else should just carry around an extra piece. :-)

As you know, everything is a tradeoff. For every person who wishes a MacBook had (a FireWire 800 port/a native DVI connector/a modem/etc) there are a thousand others who a) don't care and b) are happy to have machine that cost less than it would have if it had all those things they don't want anyway. I can count on my fingers how many faxes I've sent in the last 3 years, and I've got several FW400 devices but none that support FW800.

Hopefully you've discovered that Dashboard can be easily disabled, and check your font smoothing settings in the 'Appearance' preference pane. I'm not a font snob but I know a decent amount about type and I spend a lot of time in both 10.3 and 10.4 in a design environment, and saying "the font rendering is nowhere near as good as Panther" is a bit of a stretch. I just took screenshots of your page on rock-stock 10.3 and 10.4 systems and overlaid them in Photoshop (tough to get right since you've got your text set to fully-justify--ick!) and there are nearly no differences. At 100%, toggling one layer's visibility on and off, you can just barely see the tiniest bit of flickering between the two. At 300%, with the top layer's colors inverted and the opacity set to 50%--thus making all identical pixels grey and all other pixels a different color--you can see how little difference there is.

By the way, I too bought a MacBook and work gave me a MacBook Pro. I could list exactly what I do and don't want in a notebook, and my list would be different from yours and anyone else's. I would have liked them to have thrown in an optical audio cable, but I suspect I'm in the vast minority.

I stumbled across your blog randomly and it's entirely likely I won't make it back; feel free to reply via email if you care to.

Sooooo right, why can black people call whites crackers but whites can call blacks niggers, even though black people call themselves that all the time and cracker is obviously a derogatory remark as well. Double standards to appease minorities. Not that being called a cracker actually bothers me but its the point that double standards apply in favour of minorites. I have no problem not using the term Nigger but I am seen as a racist if I do, however using cracker is just accepted as a word in common usage (ever noticed that Nigger is a word in common usage as well, even by blacks.) I could go on for a long time about double standards in todays society but will be labeled racist instead of a realist.

The ever-useful <a href="http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi" rel="nofollow">WWJDIC</a> has entries for both “あまみず” and “うすい”, but says that “あまみず” is more commonly used. Oh well, another point for Daniel. But people understand me when I say “うすい”…

Hmmm. Where are you checking?
Most online dictionaries dont seem to have an entry for "雨水", but I found a couple of web sites that listed it as 'あまみず' (eg: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/amamizu). Not that everything you read online is correct of course, but I havn't been able to find anything that gives the reading as 'うすい'.

うすい wasn’t a kun-yomi last time I checked, but yes, I take your point. There are some cases that are traditionally exceptions. However, with most modern “invented” words, if they want kun-yomi without particles/conjunctions, they will use kana to make it explicit.
